Meet the Pivotal Point Team

Hi there! My name is Danika Drake and I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) and the owner of Pivotal Point Therapy. I earned my Masters of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University in 2017. I enjoy working with clients age 12 and up with a variety of issues including (but not limited to): anxiety, trauma, depression, women's issues, parent-child difficulties, and issues related to going through the teenage years. I also enjoy working with college aged adults who are launching into adulthood, and am happy to integrate a faith-based approach to those who desire that to be part of their therapy journey. My background in family systems informs my practice as I help people to understand how family patterns affect their present life. My goal is to tailor treatment to what works best for you, but some of the modalities I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, sandtray and EMDR. In addition to therapy services, I am a Kansas Board Approved Supervisor for MFTs seeking Clinical Licensure. Outside of work I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and attending concerts and musicals as much as possible. I believe that you already have the power to heal within you, and sometimes just need someone to walk alongside you as you do that. If you feel like I could be a good fit to walk with you on your healing journey, I’d love to talk with you!

My name is Jeff Darnauer, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated from Emporia State University with my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy working with individuals aged 12 and up, couples, and families from a variety of backgrounds. I love to help people achieve their mental health and overall wellness goals using a collaborative and compassionate approach to empower clients to overcome the barriers to the life they want. I have experience addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, social/relational issues, codependency, family dynamics, mood disorders, some personality disorders, addictive behaviors, men’s issues, grief, and major life adjustments. I do this by integrating a range of evidence-based counseling approaches, depending on the symptoms, diagnosis, strengths, and preferences of the client. I use a strengths-based, client-centered, trauma-informed approach that draws on the experiences, abilities, supports, background, and resources of each individual. With a background in pastoral ministry and a Master of Divinity degree, I love integrating the faith or spirituality of my client if that is a priority for them. The most common modalities I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and/or Christian counseling. With my wife of nearly 20 years and 3 kids, I have experienced many of the ups and downs that go with family life. I bring my breadth of life experience, education, and professional experience with me into each session.

All stages of life come with unique experiences and I strive to meet you where you are. I approach the therapeutic relationship as a non-judgemental collaborative effort and believe in the power of genuine human connection. Blending together evidence based modalities, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behaivoral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, with elements of mindfulness training, psychoeducation and faith based themes (if desired). Traveling to new places, eating good food and jamming to music are some of my favorite pastimes.

My name is Taylor Moody, and I am Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Masters Addictions Counselor (LMAC). I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges and discover meaningful paths to growth and healing. I enjoy working with clients ages 16 and up, providing support for a wide range of concerns including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and substance use. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual or couple’s unique needs. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgemental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make lasting changes. Whether you’re seeking personal growth, navigating a difficult life transition, or working through past pain, I’m here to walk alongside you with care. In my work with clients, I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the Gottman Method. These approaches allow me to tailor therapy to each client’s goals, fostering insight, resilience, and meaningful progress. With a background in Christian education, I’m able to integrate discussions of faith into the counseling process when it is important to the client. While I welcome clients from all backgrounds, I’m comfortable incorporating Christian perspectives into therapy when requested, always honoring each person’s individual values and journey. I know life can be unpredictable and full - so I offer flexible scheduling options, including evenings, weekends, and secure tele-video sessions to help make counseling more accessible. While my availability is limited, I want clients to know these options are there to support you in finding time for your well-being, even in the midst of a busy schedule. In my free time I enjoy reading (with a special love for memoirs), streaming TV shows, going on walks/exercising, listening to podcasts, and trying new recipes!
